About Jean-Claude Trichet
Jean-Claude Trichet is the former President of the European Central Bank. Mr. Trichet came to the Presidency of ECB after serving as the President of the Bank of France.
With his continental confidence, Mr. Trichet had communicated the ECB plan with precision and much appreciated candidness. He had been too slow to respond to European problems of stagnation and chronically high unemployment to his critics. To his admirers, he has prudently managed the monetary policy of the 12 nation union during the time of significant political, economic and demographic change in the region. Mr. Trichet’s preferred fighting inflation rather than generating economic growth.
